The Anoka Social District

Anoka, Minnesota - The Anoka Social District was Minnesota’s first pilot program, starting in 2023. This unique, first in Minnesota, initiative allowed individuals aged 21+ to responsibly enjoy alcoholic beverages like wine, beer, or cocktails purchased from licensed downtown Anoka businesses within a designated area of the city. Participants could freely stroll through public spaces such as sidewalks or streets, engaging in district events and activities.
